Cleaning the shackles and shackle suspension and connecting chain at the end of the killing & de-feathering line and before live bird hanging area is done by shackle washing machine.   For low capacities a pair of circular brushes are used, whereas, for higher capacities a pair of long cylindrical brush will do the job.  Supply includes splashguards, and is powered by two electric motor gearboxes of 0.37 kW each. 

Water consumption is up to 0.4 m3/hr.
